Read Aloud: Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins
Today we're going to read Pete the Cat and Five Little Pumpkins by James Deanβwith a twist! We'll be using an abacus to count along with the story. Are you ready? Let's get started!
First, let's meet our Five Little Pumpkins!
Where are they? Look! We have one, one, two, two, three, three, four, four, and five five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (or, on our abacus)! Ta da!
The story begins, and each pumpkin has something fun to say:
π The First Pumpkin says: "Oh my, it's getting late!"
π The Second Pumpkin says: "There are witches in the air!"
π The Third Pumpkin says: "But we don't care!"
π The Fourth Pumpkin says: "Let's run and run and run!"
π The Fifth Pumpkin says: "I'm ready for some funβtrick or treat with Pete!"
Then, whoooosh! The wind blows, the lights go out, and just like that, all five little pumpkins roll out of sight! Can you count them? One, two, three, four, five! What a fun Halloween adventure with Pete!
Happy Halloween! π
