Here is a new read aloud book: Monster Counting (Monster Math) by Madeline Tyler, Amy Li

Part of the Monster Math series

To celebrate Addy, the monster's birthday, I read about her party while counting from 1 - 10

If you enjoyed the book, you can either borrow it from your local library, or buy it from Amazon: https://amzn.to/3WbmilE

Here is an activity that is a great companion:

Counting Forward and Counting Backwards

In this activity, we counting only to from 0-9 because learning abacus, it is only 1 column of the abacus. Abacus is easy to understand, it promotes tactile learning.

The abacus used has 1 bead on top and 4 beads on the bottom. This activity focuses on the top bead (has a value of 5) and the bottom beads (has a value of 1 for each bead).

All the bottom beads have a value of 1 and the top bead has a value of 5.
