Engaging way to bring in the seasonal spirit of Easter with Abacus Baskets - Counting Numbers 0 to 20.
Easter is just around the corner 🐣 We are getting ready for an Easter Egg Hunt.
To collect the easter eggs from the easter egg hunt, we need to have baskets. Abacus Baskets actually. =)
I created this Easter Egg sorting Activity with an abacus basket.
Abacus Beads on the basket itself.
Eggs, each egg represents the numbers in different forms. Fingers, Easter items, 5 frame
Trace and Practice writing the number.
Cut all eggs, and then shuffle them. The key is to shuffle the eggs and then sort.
Sort eggs into the numbered baskets.
GAME IDEA-Memory (3 ways to play):
Shuffle the eggs, and lay the eggs face down.
Select 2 eggs
First egg reference the second egg
Same number
Before
Example, first egg = 2, second egg is the number before = 1
After
Example, first egg = 2, second egg is the number after = 3
If correct sort to the numbered basket
The Pre-K version have the "extra" beads removed, so it is easier for children to see the bead number represented. Compared to the regular version.
This regular version has the abacus display the "non-active" beads. The example below displays the abacus is 6 with the other bottom beads.
